Grayway R998 PEO

𝐕𝐨𝐥𝐯𝐨 𝐁𝟏𝟎𝐌 𝐕𝐚𝐧𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐀𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐞

We’ve treated ourselves this Christmas, and bought a bucket list vehicle, the groups first coach!

New to Kavanagh of Urlingford as 98-TN-1 in 1998 over in Ireland. It then briefly passed to Stephen Butler Coaches before landing on its feet at the well established Grayway’s of Wigan in 2004, for the rest of its service life. Grayway’s has been both a massive part of Wigan’s coaching history, operating for just shy of 100 years, being established in 1933 and taking over Walls in 1999, and lies close to the groups hearts doing regular school trips for us while growing up.

This is a Mk4 Volvo B10M, with a 6 speed ZF Ecomat gearbox, and Vanhool Alizee bodywork. With 55 reclining seats, double glazing, plenty of luggage space, capable of double manning, when new it really would’ve been the ‘bee’s knees’!

We’ve got a few jobs to do on it before it goes for MOT, there’s a small oil leak, fuel leak on the fuel tank and a little air leak. Other than that, it’s good to go, so should be a regular on the rally scene next year.
