As we’ve been teasing for a while, 20974 would debut in something other than Stagecoach Stripes… presenting Magic Bus!

As a bit of a tribute to Magic Bus, which ran its last service on the 4th January this year, we decided it was only fitting to paint 20974 in a livery worn by a large number of B10Ms across the Manchester depots. Magic Bus B10Ms also operated for Stagecoach around the country, eg in Merseyside and Carlisle!

We’ve refitted fog lights, started to refit the internal bench seats and painted everything from the bodywork to the wheels in the striking and iconic Magic Bus Blue! When 20974 was at Princess Road, it frequently found its self on 192s, battling on the A6 between Stagecoach and UK North, so 192 branding (as it used to be a Magic Route) was a necessity as it’s quite possibly Manchester’s most famous bus route.

She’s gleaming in the sunlights, which is somewhat ironic in comparison to the β€˜tackiness’ of the Magic Bus brand, however it’s been a staple of Manchester’s streets since the takeover of GM Buses in 1996, however dates way back to 1986 in Glasgow. Thanks to the Bee Network, the brand has become defunct after 39 years of operation, so honouring it was a necessity really!
