Meet 22878

🚨🚌 𝟐𝟐𝟖𝟕𝟖 𝐒𝐏𝟎𝟗 𝐃𝐏𝐗 🚌🚨

We’re very pleased to announce that Ex Stagecoach Fife / Cumbria & North Lancashire’s 22878 will be joining our collection. This is a Euro 6 Cummins retrofitted MAN 18.240 Enviro 300 with a 4 speed voith box.

There’s a method behind our madness, which will be revealed in due course, so stay tuned on that front.

The plan is to pick her up a week Friday, so more pictures, videos etc will follow then. A massive thank you to City Transport and Stagecoach CMNL for their assistance with the project.

A little bit of history for those interested, 22878 was new to Stagecoach’s Fife garage for their 19 service, running between Ferrytoll and Ballingry. It was then passed to CMNL’s Lancaster operation in 2016 for use on their services before finally being moved to Carlisle for its last stint of service in 2019. When transferred to Carlisle, it received a full new Cummins engine, to reduce emissions and improve reliability. It was stood down in March 2025 and then sold to us via City Transport of the North East.

As I said, all being well we’re picking it up on Friday 2nd May, so we’ll be able to provide more photos and videos of her then. We hope you’re all as excited as us! It will then convoy back down to Wigan with us after LN53 on the Sunday!
